TOUR INFORMATION
The journey begins at the seaside village of Horseshoe Bay, home to residents and the BC Ferries Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. This town is the perfect scenic stop due to its location at the entrance to Howe Sound, the southernmost glacial fjord in North America. For an adventure on the water, add the optional Deep Fjord Zodiac Tour, a one-hour journey across the ocean from Horseshoe Bay to Britannia Beach.
Further along the scenic highway, we find Shannon Falls, British Columbia’s third-highest waterfall. Make the short, light trek to the observation platform and learn some history of the area on your way!
Cross the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge and walk along forest trails to spectacular viewpoints at the Sea To Sky Gondola located on Mount Habrich. Their patio offers breathtaking views of the mountain corridor and also happens to be a great spot to eat and drink.
The highlights of the Britannia Mine Museum include the train ride into the underground mine tunnel and watching Mill 3 come to life using sounds, lights and animation. Panning for gold also has no age limit and is not as easy as it looks!
This tour is an excellent post-cruise option and for those that are flying out from the Vancouver International Airport (YVR). We can drop you and your luggage off after your tour for an additional fee.
Complimentary Hotel or Cruise Terminal Pick Up – Pick up from the Cruise Terminal, your downtown Vancouver or Richmond hotel and meet your tour guide. Ask about our luggage handling service.
Horseshoe Bay – Enjoy taking pictures and getting something to eat or drink at the many coffee shops located in this picturesque seaside village, home to one of the BC Ferry Terminals.
Shannon Falls – These glacial waters cascade 335 metres (1,099 feet) down into the stream below, making Shannon Falls BC’s third-highest waterfall.
Sea to Sky Gondola – If you’re looking for an unforgettable view of Howe Sound, then make your way along the light hiking trails to various observation platforms or have something to eat and take in the sights from the patio.
Britannia Mine Museum – There is fun for the whole family at this interactive National Historic Site! Pan for gold, explore Mill 3 and take the train into an old mine tunnel and experience conditions and equipment used by miners who worked at one of North America’s top producers of copper.
Stawamus Chief – At 700 m (2,297 feet), see the world’s 2nd largest granite monolith, a geological feature made up of one massive piece of rock.
Howe Sound – Howe Sound, Canada’s southernmost fjord, was formed by a combination of mountains forming, glaciers melting, and earthquakes millions of years ago. Spot where the fresh glacial waters meet with the waters of the Fraser River.
Lions Gate Bridge – What is now an icon of downtown Vancouver, this bridge “spans” back to 1937. Thanks to this bridge, the population grew steadily in North and West Vancouver.
Hotel, Airport or Train Station Drop Off – Drop off available at your downtown Vancouver or Richmond hotel, Vancouver International Airport (YVR), VIA Rail or Rocky Mountaineer.
