TOUR INFORMATION

Our Victoria & Butchart Gardens Tour, our most beloved day trip, has been voted the “Best Day Trip in the World in 2018” by TripAdvisor Users. Experience the wild beauty of the Pacific Coast with the splendour of British Columbia’s capital city. This adventure highlights some of this region’s best features as you sail aboard a local ferry along the rugged coastline, past the Southern Gulf Islands before arriving on Vancouver Island. Continue your journey into Victoria’s downtown, where you can stroll through the cobblestone streets and the Inner Harbour.

Downtown Victoria offers the chance to wander past the buskers lining the harbour, take a harbour ferry over to Fisherman’s Wharf, visit the haunting Bastion Square and explore some of the city’s oldest architecture. If you are looking to get something to eat, ask your tour guide about the best spots!

For our guests with a green thumb or those looking for more time to explore the Gardens, let your guide know that you would like to take the early shuttle to the Butchart Gardens. They will take care of the arrangements and let you know when and where to meet the shuttle.

Your next stop is the famous Butchart Gardens. This National Historic Site showcases 55 acres of garden displays. Explore the perfectly themed Japanese Garden, Sunken Garden and Rose Garden. See if you can find the elusive Todd Inlet for more stunning views.

Then return home with a relaxing evening sailing with BC Ferry back to Vancouver’s mainland and on to your hotel. The BC Ferry offers two great options for dinner! Take advantage of the self-serve restaurant or the all-inclusive buffet.

Complimentary Hotel Pick Up – Pick up from your downtown Vancouver or Richmond hotel and meet your tour guide.

BC Ferries – Watch out for marine life as we cruise through the beautiful Gulf Islands to Vancouver Island. Try the dining and shopping amenities onboard or head out onto the passenger decks and breathe in the fresh ocean air.

Victoria’s Inner Harbour – Walk along the boardwalk and see sights such as the Royal BC Museum, the Fairmont Empress Hotel, the Parliament Buildings and explore the colourful Victorian architecture along Government Street. Wander through Chinatown, Bastion Square and Canada’s narrowest commercial street, Fan Tan Alley.

An early shuttle is available for those seeking extra time in the gardens, in exchange for less time in downtown Victoria. Ask your tour guide for details.

The Butchart Gardens – What was once a cement limestone quarry became a world-renowned garden under the vision of Jennie Butchart. Starting with the Sunken Gardens, the Butchart family then added the Japanese, Italian and Rose gardens. Today you can explore over 900 species of plants over 55 sprawling acres with hints of the old cement factory remaining.

The Fairmont Empress Hotel – This National Historic Site of Canada opened its doors in 1908. Designed by the infamous Francis Rattenbury, this iconic building lies across from the harbor.

British Columbia Parliament Buildings – An architectural wonder, this is home to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia and was built in 1898.

Hotel Drop-off – Downtown Vancouver or Richmond hotels, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) or VIA Rail.
